growing up in Southern California, i was practically born in boardshorts. whether heading to the beach, school, or out for a run, boardshorts were my everyday uniform. i always had a feeling i’d design my own one day, but the idea truly came to life when i embarked on a journey around the world. traveling, surfing, and exploring this beautiful planet became my daily routine.
one day, while surfing in Sri Lanka, it hit me: "what if i combined these elements of my life into a pair of boardshorts?" that moment sparked the creation of mūndo. i knew i wanted to approach this differently, breaking away from the flaws and unethical practices of today’s fashion industry. this meant taking the road less traveled—doing everything myself. from sourcing materials in countries where I didn’t even speak the language to driving through small villages in search of skilled seamstresses, i poured my heart into this mission.
after two months of navigating Indonesia, building relationships, and gathering resources, the first pair of mūndo boardshorts was born. the moment i put them on, i knew i had created something special.
each pair is ethically crafted, designed with purpose, and rooted in the vibrant communities i’ve had the privilege of exploring. with mūndo, you’re not just getting a sick pair of boardshorts—you’re supporting a movement that empowers people and celebrates the beauty of our world.
